Manchester United have made an approach to sign Willian

Manchester United have reportedly made an early move to sign Chelsea forward Willian in the January transfer window. Willian, 29, has scored 36 goals in 206 appearances for the Blues since his arrival back in 2013 but the Brazilian has consistently been linked with a move to Old Trafford since Jose Mourinho took over the reins with the Red Devils.

The pair won a Premier League title and a League Cup during their time together at Stamford Bridge and Mourinho is desperate to be reunited with his former player. According to The Daily Mail, the Red Devils have made an inquiry over signing the Brazil international in the new year, but Antonio Conte’s champions are reluctant to sell. Mourinho is ready to listen to offers for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January and is scouring the market for the Armenian’s replacement at Old Trafford.

Willian, who is also on Barcelona’s radar in the lead-up to January, told Chelsea fans not to worry about his future earlier this week. Asked about the recent speculation, he said: ‘The fans can be calm. ‘I am a Chelsea player and I am very pleased with the way I have been playing in recent weeks.
